A variety of electrical and electronic equipment are in use in modern operation theaters for monitoring anesthesia and surgical Procedures. This course prepares candidates for working in the operation theatre as a competent reliable technologist among the other members of a health care team, under the guidance and supervision of senior doctors and Technical persons in their delivery of patient care by learning the usage of various diagnostic equipment such as Ventilators, Defibrillators, monitors, C-arm etc.
An operation theatre assistant is a person who looks after all the work and management of the operation theatre which includes managing the patients in & out of operation theatre, looking after all the surgical instruments including their sterilization, arranging operation table, dressing table, instrument table, anaesthesia table as well as management of the operation theatre staff. An Operation theatre assistant also assists the surgeon during the surgical operations and looks after the drugs required for surgery, anaesthetic gases, drapes, linen & their sterilization.

Aim of the course is to teach and train students in management of operation theatre along with handling a variety of operating instruments including electronic and advanced equipments used in modern operation theatres.

 

Eligibility:

The basic eligibility for courses in physiotherapy is 10+2 passed or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, biology and English. At least 45% of marks should be secured in each of these subjects. Age limit for the candidates is 17 years.
